SAUCE ON
grilled smashburger • turkey sub • monte cristo sandwich
Ingredients
12oz can of dr. pepper
6 bacon strips
1 tbsp reserved bacon fat
3 shallots
1 sweet onion
1/4 cup ketchup
2 tbsp worcestershire
1 tbsp sherry vinegar
5 garlic cloves
1 tbsp onion powder
1 tbsp garlic powder
1 tbsp smoked paprika
1 tsp dried thyme
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
Preparation
1.
Pre heat over to 400 degrees. Cook bacon until crispy and reserve bacon fat. Set aside to cool

Into a pan over medium heat add bacon fat. Cook for 5 minutes until completely melted and bubbling

After bacon fat has melted, to sauté pan add onion and shallots. Cook until translucent for 5min and then add garlic. Sauté for another 5 minutes unitl onions and shallots have a light brown color.

Add ketchup, garlic powder, onion powder, dried thyme, smoked paprika, brown sugar, worcestershire, sherry vinegar, salt and pepper. Sauté for 5 min. Deglaze with Dr. Pepper and cook mixture down for another 5 min. Turn off heat.

Add sautéed mixture and cooked bacon to a food processor. Pulse 5 times for desired texture

Spread on burgers and sandwiches!
