Kiwi Jalapeño Hot Sauce

SAUCE ON

huevos rancheros • grilled flank steak • roasted brussels sprouts



Ingredients


All of the ingredients for the kiwi jalapeño hot sauce on a white table



6 jalapeño pepper

2 shallots

7 kiwis

1 poblano peppper

1 tbs honey

1 lime juice/zest

1 bunch of cilantro

1 white onion

5 scallions

1 tbsp garlic powder

1 tbsp onion powder

1 tbsp smoked paprika

2 tsp cumin

1 tbsp salt

1 cup white vinegar

1/2 cup water






Preparation


1.

Cut jalapeños in half. Deseed for desired heat level. Peel kiwis and set aside.

2.

Pre heat grill to 400 degrees. Onto grill place shallots, jalapeños, poblano, onion, and scallions. Grill until grill marks have shown and vegetables are blistered.

3.

Into a food processor or blender put grilled onion, shallot, poblano, jalapeño, scallion, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, honey, white vinegar, kiwi, lime juice/zest, cilantro and salt. Blend for 1 minute.

4.

Strain blended hot sauce into a sauce pan. Bring to a simmer and let cool.
