Smoky Cranberry Hot Sauce

SAUCE ON

Thanksgiving Turkey • Green Bean Casserole • Tofurkey



Ingredients

1 package of fresh cranberries or 2 cups

3 habaneros (if desired, de seed for heat level)

1/2 orange juice and zest

1 jar of roasted red bell peppers and

brine (12oz)

1/4 cup sugar

1.5 cups white vinegar

1 tbsp onion powder

1 tbsp garlic powder

1 tbsp smoked paprika

1/2 tbsp cayenne pepper

1 tsp cinnamon

1/2 cup water

1 tbsp salt

1 tsp pepper



Preparation

1.

Into a medium sauce pan over high heat add cranberries, water, habaneros, vinegar, onion powder, garlic powder, cinnamon, cayenne, smoked paprika, roasted red bell peppers/brine, sugar, orange juice/zest, salt and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes until cranberries have burst.

2.

Using a hand blender or food processor, blend ingredients until smooth

3.

Let blended hot sauce cool, and strain

4.

Bottle up and put on everything!
